I have 17 years of experience as an academic in the capacity of a university lecturer/senior lecturer at university of Ruhuna. ​I have been working as head of Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Science, University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka, since April 2012.

I have also gained three and half years of valuable experience in an Australian Institution whilst completing my PhD in Computer Science at Central Queensland (CQU) University.

My education also includes Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial Mathematics and a B.Sc. Special Degree in Computer Science with Second Class Honours.

During my postgraduate studies at CQU, Fuzzy document filtering algorithm has been developed to filter documents relevant to the user query from the outputs of search engines.
